Well that would be a new one as I know they have had operational bitches in the past, and my first GSD bitch came from Lancs Police. I will have a word with my ex OH (as he is an instructor at the dog school) and let you know.

Let us know how you get on with Cumbria and Big GSD.

I hope so - she looks a really lovely girl.

Isn't there anyone on Dogsey looking for a loveable GSD girlie?

You could contact Big GSD in Surrey. They have some excellent fosterers but the problem I guess would be getting Ellie down South.

Also, would she make suitable police material? Is she confident, ball driven etc? If so, contact the dog section at Lancashire Police on 01772 618335.

Cumbria Police are also looking for suitable dogs at the moment, and can be contacted here - Sgt Gibson or PC Mossop on 01768 891999 ext 7282.
Passed on the number s to Carol and she said the cumbria one didn't seem to be working. Do you have any other numbers?

I don't unfortunately, but can have a search around and try to find one for you.

What a shame Have you heard back from Big GSD?

I spoke to my ex at Lancs Police today and he said that he has ordered all the dogs needed for the next course, all being imported from Germany, so they aren't taking in any gift dogs at the moment

I have found a general number for Cumbria, so suggest Carol rings it and asks for the dog section - 0845 33 00 247.
