Help! shadow, 2yr old whippet x needs a home

WEST MIDLANDS AREA.

Hi all,

I was asked today at work if i was interested in homing little shadow

His mummy and daddy are looking to rehome him. They took him on a few months ago and are having problems with him getting on with their 5yr old daughter He has jumped up and knocked her over and growled at her a few times now. They are very very upset and not wanting to rehome but see no choice as they are worried he will hurt their daughter. He seems to have a possible jealousy issue, they cannot hug their daughter in front of him or he growls. They have spoken to the rescue they got him from who are unwilling to have him back and only offered to pay to have him PTS

I dont want this to start a debate about parenting versus dog keeping i really just want to help them find a home for poor shadow.

If anyone can help here is some info, He sounds perfect, if we had the space and didnt have a big grump living here (phil ) i would snap him up in a heartbeat! My OH said NO

Hes :
Neutered
House trained
No problems with being left for short periods of time
Energetic and playful
Very obedient
Has a good understanding of commands
Fantastic recall off lead
Friendly with other dogs but may need some socialisation
Ok around busy streets and traffic
Walks on lead well

If you want any more info please PM or reply.
Thanks so much for reading.
Clare and Shadow. xxx

Forgot to say pics to follow soon and he's brown and the rescue described him as a medium sized dog.

How long will they keep him for? There is a possibility i could put him on the greyhound rescue website that i maintain under the rehoming section as we do rehome any sighthound/lurcher etc...but not sure if the rescue actually have any current spaces to take him in. Also have to say though for us rehoming is very slow at the moment so you may have no joy immediately. Feel free to PM me anytime.

You could try the whippet forums or lurcher forums
