Need advice - passing on

I've made the heart breaking decision to have Eddy put to sleep and the vet is coming here to do it on Friday so he can go peacefully at home after a nice walk in one of his favourite haunts.

Thing is, I don't know what to do about the girls. Do I let them see him or don't I? I know some people say it's better to let them see and others think it's not.

I don't want to traumatise either of them but I don't want to do the wrong thing by them either.

Any advice would be much appreciated as I just don't know what to do

So sorry to hear this Lottie, you are so brave to have made this decision for Eddy.

FWIW, I would maybe shut the girls out in the first place, and let them 'visit' with Eddy one last time after the deed is done.

Huge hugs to you and the spotties

Patricia McConnell suggests letting the 4 legged survivors see and sniff the body. I respect her.

Hugs to you. I'm so sorry to hear this. I let Dylan see my lurcher after he was pts at home. Dylan wasn't in the room while it happened as I think that would be too stressful for everyone. xxxx

awww {{hugs}} a hard decision for you,but a last gift u can give
fwiw.. mine are around the deceased more than most...they act very matter of fact,to me,they dont see it as an animal or pal anymore, they seem to know before we do that their time has come, and generally stay out of the way.so really whatever the decision it will be for you,so do whats right for you in your heart.xx
