Has Anyone Seen This?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/7700167.stm

This is about 35 miles away from me, but where my son works. I am waiting til I know he is home from work and had his dinner and then I will ring and see how he has got on.
Funnily enough we went to Exeter last night to take our eldest grand-daughter to a gig (is that what you call them these days? ) Yeh Gma and Gdad drew the short straw again. The weather was bad then but luckily we were home before all this happened.
Looks pretty scarey doesn't it?

Just watched it on the news it looks really scary.
A woman was saying they were caught out in the hail storm and it was getting higher and higher round them and restricting their breathing, she knew the emergency services wouldn't be able to get through and she seemed really distressed. She thinks they are lucky to be alive

Looks pretty devestating doesn't it all those homes flooded and cars washed away.
I have just spoken to my son. He had an horrendous journey to work this morning. The motorway was 3 solid lanes of stationary traffic
He said the police lifted a cordon to allow them off the motorway, because they work just at the airport turn off, but told them they would not get any further than the airport cos the roads were deep in snow and hail.
He said the surrounding fields looked to be under about 6ft of water.

And here was me yesterday saying South Devon never gets snow

Yes, you said that to me too I think you must have some of ours

Glad your son got home alright and at least by tomorrow a lot of it should have melted whereas here, once it snows it tends to stay on the ground until Spring
