Clicker Training tips

Hello again,

I am getting my Northern Inuit puppy in a week, she will be 6 weeks old.

I wish to train her with the clicker method at first, then go on to alter the 'clicking' to whistle commands, which are easier for me, I wont have to carry the clicker around... etc.

I am just wondering if anyone has any tips and advice of clicker training at all?

I have had some conflicting advice in books I have read about when to begin clicker training and how best to do it.

Also I have read that it is easier to train a bitch with the clicker method than a male.

I have a bitch.

Has anyone else clicker trained thier dog?

At Hearing Dogs for Deaf People the clicker method is how we train dogs and we have a very cost effective video. se www.hearing-dogs.co.uk
