How can I get rid of a doggy odour?

Another question about Archie...

I've been taking advice and haven't been bathing him so frequently, but I was just wondering if there's anything I can use apart from chalk to keep him fresh between baths? He's getting a slight 'doggy' odour, nothing terrible or anything but is tere anything I can do to keep him smelling fresh without bathing him?

Personally I just love the smell of 'dog' and don't find it at all offensive - even hot, wet dog. But you can try baby wipes to keep him smelling sweet.

@ SB

Are baby wipes OK for his skin? I don't really want him to smell 'sweet' or anything lol, but perhaps neutralise smells before they get too strong

I use Bicarb on his beard but I'm reluctant to use it all over...

I have a grooming spray for Star. Can you use something like that on Archie?

You can also get 'quick bath' wipes.
Like wet-ones, for doggies!

the one I have is a lavender and citronella spray. Its good for keeping fleas and ticks at bay. I think you can get them in most pet shops but you would need to see if they are suitable for Archie's coat.

I actually l know someone that uses those sheets you put in tumble dryer(don't want to advertise ) but if you had a rubber ball it would do this anyway she just wipes the dog over with one and puts it into the dog basket to keep her dog smelling nice. Ohh and a tip, if you have one of these sheets in your top pocket or say in your bra strap (this of course is for the women) apparently it keeps bees/wasp/flies/ midges away from you during the summer?

What sort of smell either I am immune after all these years or Amy has no smell. She has a feint odour of Teetree cos I wipe a drop on her before walks and never get fleas. I love the milky smell of puppies, and the soft smell on the top of a dogs head between the ears I imagine Archie has that too But then I like the smell of fresh sweat on a man so I may not be the best judge
