Remus has an owie!

Not sure how he has done it but Remus has a cut/skinned area on his chest...right in his muscle cleavage, for want of a better word!

(Sorry I can only post link, but photo bucket won't let me copy the direct link again. Grrrrr)

He was fine until I put aloe Vera gel on it and then he started pacing, walking backwards, biting his front legs and generally trying to lick it.

I don't think it's vet worthy, especially not on a weekend but could do with some advice please.

I may have some fuciderm ointment ferreted away somewhere, and definitely have some pain relief medicine left from his castration. What, if any do you think I should use, and should I leave it open or micropore it?

Thank you. I shall do that. He also has, what looks like, a barbed wire scratch on his chest too..and that was from yesterday's walk.

I guess he has gone charging in through branches and under growth.
I would think that keeping it clean will be fine and it will scab over soon enough.

Ahh, that doesn't look too bad. Had you not noticed it, it probably would have healed all by itself with no trouble. Aloe Vera probably won't really do it any good.

Best to just wash it and maybe put a tiny bit of Neosporin on it and let it be. Doesn't look like he can much chew it or fool with it, I'd not worry. It'll close up soon enough, I'd assume. I'd certainly not take him to the vet.

Barbed wire? Ouch!

Added:

What's with the gay African dude in the photo beside that one, if I may ask?

Myra you would not believe how bendy he is! He can get virtually anywhere he wants to with a whole load of weird contortions!

Oh, I love that other picture. I think it shows amazing strength, beauty and courage because he is the man who led the first every Gay pride march in Uganda where homosexuality is punishable by death.

I'd dab it with salt water and leave it without cream as it should then dry up.
