My alsation has been in moult for what seems like alife time now and its literally coming off in BIG handfulls!! I brush her near enough every day and the amount that comes off well you could make another dog outta it lol!

any suggestions???

Sounds about normal for a gsd. All I can recommend is getting a good groom several times a year who will take out all the dead coat for you and should lessen the impact.

my GSD Zak is exactly the same as is my mums, we use a brush that removes the undercoat too I think its called a stripping brush My hoover is constantly full and ZAk hates being brushed . I have to admit i am surprised he isn't bald yet!!!

I have a GSD called Zak as well, and certain times of the year you could knit a sweater with the hair that comes from him.

my dogs moult consistently through out the year too and they shed loads - it's just one of the things you have to put up with

A 'rake' and a 'slicker' are the brushes we use - not much else you can do really other than move to a much colder climate so they hold on to their coat more at least in winter lol.

mine is the same too, everyday I use an undercoat rake and it looks like I have been shearing a sheep in the room, she now looks half her normal size

dont ya just love it!!!

hair with everything and in everything

What are black clothes???

H never stops moulting even tho i brush him every day and use a pin brush then once a week i go through him with a rake, pin brush and slicker to finish off.
i fill a carrier bag every week

not much can be done to avoid it, i've learnt to live with it now and have shares in selotape, i use that much
