Canine epileptoid cramping syndrome CECS

Hi, this is my first thread! I joined cos i wanted to know if anyone out there has a dog with CECS, which is like epilepsy. I think my dog has it. Vets here couldn't help my Snoopy who is the best dog EVER. (Looks like Benji) He has all the symptoms that are on a special website for CECS in border terriers. Snoopy has fits every month or so. Used to be every 4 days then we had him fixed and changed his diet to royal canin hypoallergenic. Want to know if this will go away or anything else i can do. I live in EGYPT and vet care is very limited. Its awful when he has a fit, goes all stiff, I dont know how much pain , if any, he's in. Can anyone give me more info on this fairly newly diagnosed disease???

Sorry, don't know much about CECS, specifically, but one of my Border Collies (now departed) had epilepsy, so I wrote the epilepsy article here on Dogsey.

All I can do, though, is offer you sympathy, because I know how hellish it can be to watch, knowing there's very little you can do to stop it
