Hmmm-it is a tough choice, but i'd opt for a plastic bed because of cheapness and durability!

My friends GSD chewed it so much the cane bits snagged your leg when walking past-ouch!

How about just a soft bed, rather than something hard?
Or is that a no-no because he'll chew it?

Why won't your OH have a plastic bed - just curious! lol

Thought about a softbed but I think he'll rip it apart.

Bless! Is he an interior designer at heart?

I would personally go for a plastic one myself, the wicker ones are just too tempting for some dogs to chew! Bonnie ate hers, and I really do mean "ate" it! It was the only thing she chewed in the whole of her 15 years, but still it wasn't cheap!

Rip, I'm the one studying interiors He is a designer though so it makes sense that he's particular about how the house looks too

Thankfully we have agreed on a bed, pretty non descript but it's perfect for Fern (we hope!) there's an online store that we have been using to order Fern's Hills from - IN GERMANY!! Why there? Because it is cheaper to buy it in Germany than it is to buy in the UK

We also found his bed there, and realised we could also get 10% off as well so it also ended up being cheaper to buy this type of bed in Germany than the UK.

Goes to show how much they over charge us here

Thanks guys, we found a bed yesterday morning , he doesn't tear up his current mattress only performs love acts on it so we think we 'might' be safe to use this one....it's called the Bimbay bed and it is coming in from Germany as it is cheaper which we think Fern will use as his girlfriend and not rip apart
