New puppy, ideas on toys and other bits

It's been just over 6yrs since we last had a puppy in the house, and we've been trying to remember what we had for Guinness as a pup, as we were lucky with him, he never really chewed anything or had any bad habits (apart from sleeping in the laundry basket and eating the odd nappy, clean ones I may add lol). Does anyone have any recommendations on toys or puppy aids that make life easier for the dog, only thing we have so far is his crate, bowls, beds and a small collar and lead set. We went to pets at home the other day and its like a minefield of brightly coloured plastic toys, didn't really know where to start. The dog in question s a lab x gsdiff that helps, kids wanted to call him either Buddy boy or sprite (kids eh), but they finally decided on Loki which we both really like too.

Kongs are excellent - they are made from natural rubber and so are non-toxic.

Good luck with Loki - look forward to seeing some photos!

Kongs are good
also we found the softer puppy nylabones went down well, especially for teething.
If you have charity shops nearby, they are really good for soft toys especially if you buy baby ones, ours have outlasted all the soft dog toys, and they are cheaper as well as supporting a good cause
have also found the cheap rope toys good as well.

Rosie is a terrier so she has lots of squeakies that she loves - she doesn't really destroy squeaky toys.

She had a stuffed gorilla that was nearly the same size as her when we first got her which she slept with for the first few weeks. It's still intact whereas all the other soft toys bit the dust very quickly

Thanks for the replies folk, have invested in a couple of different sized kong, got a bacon flavoured nylabone in asda for £2 looks solid enough and the wife is going to pick up some soft toys from the charity shop during the week. Here's a photo of Loki he's 12 days old today and has not long opened his eyes for the first time, every time we see him our hearts melt a little more
