Jessie - Border Collie

Jessie is a lovely Black & White girl of 7 years who has come to Wiccaweys from Ireland. Jessie developed diabeties after her last season so her owner in Ireland took her to the vets to have her PTS. They didn't want her anymore. The vets refused to do that to Jessie as they all loved her, and they took her in, started the treatment for her condition and contacted an Irish rescue to help find a place for Jessie. We saw Jessie's story and offered our help.

We were expecting a very old and sad little dog to come to us, as you can see from the first photo of Jessie taken in Ireland.

Nothing could be further from the truth as you can see from the other photos!

Jessie is a wonderful girl!! She is very playful and full of life and fun! She loved to play with toys and she is brilliant with other dogs, children and cats. She is just gorgeous! Jessie still has a lot of love and fun to give, and she deserves her very own family.

There is a chance that Jessie's diabeties may disappear once she has been spayed, however if not she will need a daily injection of insulin. She is very good about having this done. Her diabeties is easily managed with the injection and regular meals. Wiccaweys could/would cover the cost of Jessie's insulin if required.

If you feel you can offer Jessie the home she deserves, please telephone us on: 07905 203254 (please note we only accept enquiries for dogs by telephone - we like to have a chat with you!)

Jessie is due to be spayed soon so we should find out whether her diabetes will improve or not.

She has had a few enquiries but they were put off by the thought of her maybe being on meds for the rest of her life. There is so muh more to this lady than her diabetes, you would never imagine that she had any healh problems if you met her on one of her walks giving the other dogs she lives with a run for there money over the toys.

Jessie has found herself a new home. They are a lovely couple that are willing to live with her diabetes if it stays for life and they are not the slightest bit fazed that in the last couple of days her eyesight has deteriorated. They wanted her anyway even if she went blind as well.

I so wish there were more people in the world like this couple for all breeds of dogs that are looking for homes.

What stars they are.
