Zoey, female Staffie, DOB 02.08.11 – Fareham, Hampshire

Zoey, Staffie, DOB 02.08.11 – Fareham, Hampshire

Homing Requirements: Zoey needs stability and a chance to shine. She can be left for short periods. Hasn't lived with children but her sentiments to them and the new baby are caring. Her skin needs watching when flarred up i.e. flea treatment and bathed in tea tree shampoo, rub sudo cream on the patches and it returns to health. She can live with cats and did grow up with 2 other dogs but best to live as an only dog.

Her Story: Zoey grew up with 2 male staffies and cats. She accepted her owner's baby really well but seems to be trying to protect it and the dynamics of the pack changed with Zoey no longer getting on with her companion dogs. She has had to move out and is being looked after by her 'grandmother'. Zoey is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Currently in the Fareham, near Portsmouth area.

Advert: Zoey is a wonderful people-person. She hasn't lived with children but delights in their company, as with Staffies they mustn't over excite her as she can get leapy. Zoey sniffs and licks then ignores the baby. Zoey knows sit, paw, lie down, bed. She is very obedient and knows her name, even Bubba as a second name and comes on call. Zoey has lived with cats and has no problem. She has also been in contact with horses on walks and is curious but shows no problem. Zoey has a slightly anxious disposition and can bark in new situations, at noises, or something out of ordinary, but with reassurance settles. Zoey can get a skin irritation that comes and goes but doesn't take much time to return to full health.

Zoey is 2 years old, a lovely fawn Staffie with a prematurely greying muzzle. Zoey takes time to settle & trust around new dogs. She needs a relaxed home as she doesn't cope in stressful situations. When excited she can nip your chin, "love bite" but doesn't mark the skin but she shouldn't be encouraged to get over excited. She enjoys car travel. Zoey's family adore her but can't resettle the pack since the baby arrived and are hoping her new family will appear and go on to love her as they always have.

An update from one of our volunteers:

"We went to meet Zoey today to get some new photographs.
On introduction she was calm, no barking or jumping,
just came to say hello. We had a play and took some photographs,
great with her toys, sits nicely and gives her paw.
She loves to play ball and will bring it back and place it in your hand.
A lovely afternoon with a lovely dog!!

Is that a treat you have there?

You can do that all day?

Takes treats so nicely!

Waiting for the ball.

Brings the ball back every time and places in your hand!

That was fun.."!
