Dave, Greyhound/Lurcher, DOB 02

Dave, Greyhound/Lurcher, DOB 02

His Story: Dave was found stray and never claimed. He is an 8 year old Greyhound neutered and chipped. He needs TLC and freedom from kennels.

Homing requirements: Dave is a wonderful greyhound who needs a loving family who can offer him creature comforts and lovely walks. We are looking for a caring home with 5' fencing and lots of love on the agenda.

Advert: Dave has a wonderful presence; he is both calm and joyful. Very loving and a true friend. He is just undergoing a full health check. He has a lovely demeanour with sparkling eyes. Demonstrates glee on meeting dogs and with encouragement falls into walking in their company: he dances with grace and a skip in his step.

It was an honour to rescue a Greyhound from Durham sadly coincidently called Dave as if you remember with a shudder..
In 2007 Durham magistrates court heard David Smith, 57, of Seaham, County Durham, could have killed up to 10,000 greyhounds. and buried them is secret mass graves.
Our Dave never got into the wrong hands and now is in trusting loving hands ... trying to find his family, a comfy sofa to rest his head on and be a close friend to his forever family.

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***.

An update from one of our volunteers:

"Met Dave for the second time today and got to know him a bit better. He is a sweet older boy who loves affection and is friendly with other dogs he meets. A typical greyhound really. Gentle loving nature. Still underweight sadly. Was so tempted to bring him home!

He has met lots of dogs and was 'cool and friendly'

Dave is looking for a foster or forever home!

Alison is a volunteer and has greyhounds herself. This is what she said about Dave ...

Fingers crossed for his forever home asap!! Again wish I could have him, but with indoor guineas and rabbits, that might be problematic... He looks a lovely boy

Dave has gone into foster with Alison who has Greyhounds herself - she is also fostering Musky for us. Plus she runs our Gatwick walking volunteer programme. Here is her update:

"Yes I really was tempted and he has been with us since yesterday lunchtime! He has tried to play with my others but Musky comes in as the play police and forbids it! A few disputes because Musky is a little intolerant of other males in the house, but hoping it will all settle so he can stay and rebuild his condition and put on some weight.

We all love this boy and really hope he stays here until he finds his home.

Alison"
