Urine sample

Urine samples, does this need to be fresh as in first one of the day or at anytime during the day?

When I've taken them, I've always used the first one of the day - partly because that's the easiest time to get it - you know they are going to really need to go.

hi,
the fresher the sample the better, doesn't really matter what time of day(if standard testing, you should of been advised otherwise)if needs to be stored it is best not to refrigerate.
i hope its for nothing to serious.

First one of the day is BEST because you get a more accurate Specific gravity and thus a better picture of how well your dogs kidneys are functioning. But if you can't get the first of the day, then any will do. Just know that your Specific gravity results may be an inaccurate reflection of your dogs kidney function, if that is a concern for you.
