I'm not saying that an aversive would have worked, but just wondered if you would feel responsible if you offered training for this, and it didn't prevent this happening.
would depend on the situation, was the dog ready to be offlead at the time, did it have a SOLID leave/recall?
not sure if i would feel RESPONSIBLE, but would certainly not feel good!

What emphasis was put on development of the domestic dog?

What grade did you achieve and what was your dissertation topic (provided you passed with Hons)?
Brierly, his degree was in mainly large/zoo based animals and the job experience part was again zoo based. As far as I am aware there was very little re domestic animals.

Adam barely scraped through with a "pass" grade and certainly did not pass "with honours".

Tried to edit the Glad You Like It Post, but not working to say apologies for double letters, spacing, even spelling apart from Premack. Due to new laptop (used to full sized keyboard)...

No doubt there'll be loads of posts saying it now!

Why then are sales of e collars going up 30% year on year?

Why are prong collars becoming increasingly popular?

If reward based is so good and you don't need anything else how come averisve seems to be the new thing?

Oh---that is word for word taken from your puppet master---who is banned from most forums but crawls back every now and then. I see he is on another forum you are on Adam---unless he has been rumbled again that is

Where are the figures for this?

That is proof that for behaviors that are life threatening to the dog, an adversive is nessessary imho. Because for life-threatening behaviors I want them to think somethine very negative will happen if they ever try it again!

It could be anything from a sound, to a command, uttered gruffly (for chasing things or going for something that could be dangerous, I use a very gruff 'leave it!'). For everything else, I use a firm 'no!'

No my source was quite explicit Adam.
You are however free to explain in what way you feel my source incorrect. Mind you that may prove rather difficult as the fact remains that the course WAS mainly large/zoo animal based and you barely scraped a pass.
