Murphy Russell – Good with cats! (Oldies Club, fostered London)

Murphy is a gorgeous little 8 year old Jack Russell Terrier who came into our care because the other dog in his home had begun to attack him. He is now in an Oldies Club foster home in Stratford, London E15, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home.

Settled quite quickly: It took Murphy about 2 weeks to settle in his foster home. He is a placid boy and is happy to be left alone for a few hours.

Would prefer to be the only dog: Murphy is generally good with other dogs, especially female dogs, but as he was bullied by the dog in his previous home we wouldn’t risk rehoming him to live with a male dog. He loves to have your attention all to himself so he would be happiest if he was the only dog in his new home.

Good with cats, and children of 10+ years: Murphy seems fine with cats and he should be able to live with them as he has in the past. He is fine with children and could live with children of 10+ years old.

Good on the lead and in the car: Murphy is good on the lead. His recall is OK except when his attention is focussed on another dog or on children playing ball – he wants to join in! Murphy is very good in the car.

Murphy likes… Playing with his ball; Going for nice walks.

Murphy dislikes… Nothing in particular so far. He seems OK with everyday noises in the home.

Murphy’s perfect home: Murphy is quite energetic and would love to live with someone who has plenty of time to play with him and take him for good walks. He is fine to be left but, as he loves to be with you, he would be happiest with someone who is home a fair amount of time. He would like to be the only dog in his new home so that there is no chance of him beng bullied again.

Health notes: At his vet check, Murphy was found to be in good health. He has just been neutered and is vaccinated, microchipped, and has been flea and worm treated.

Foster carer’s summary: Murphy is a friendly, loveable little dog. He loves you to play ball with him and then when he is tired he loves to curl up next to you.

If you can offer Murphy a permanent home, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:

Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk
Telephone: 0844 586 8656

He can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet him.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
