My dodgy leg - update

Well, the results are in. I have the following wrong with my knee:

1. Mild osteo-arthritis. This was no surprise as it's just a result of aging.

2. Possible cartilage damage. This needs to be confirmed by an MRI scan.

3. Partial dislocation of the patella - I did this when I fell over in the car park at work on 25th February.....

I now need to see a knee specialist. I'm currently looking into any treatment being covered by my private health policy. However, when I was "given" the private health by my company, I had to state what conditions I had seen my GP for over the preceeding six months. One of mine was my knee, which was playing me up when I bowled. Easily solved, and has never bothered me since, until now.

The insurance company want my GP to confirm that this current injury is not linked to my previous knee history. Considering my previous problem was over 6 years ago, and the current problem was caused by going ar*e over apex four months ago, there's unlikely to be a link.

Anyhoo, at least I now know what it is, and I also now understand why it hurts so bloody much!

Looks like there's going to be a solution, private or NHS, and for that I am eternally grateful!

Good news that you now know what the problem is Vicki and as you say, there will be a treatment one way or the other. At least you'll be able to move forward with it (no pun intended)xxxxx

Sounds like this can be sorted out.
Make sure your GP lets the insurance co know that this is an acute knee injury as the result of a fall, NOT chronic or on-going.

Good luck Vicki, it is always good to be given a reason for pain isn't it.
I hope things get sorted for you very soon.

You don't do things by half

At least you know what is happening now and it explains all the pain you have had.
Feet up hun and have a relaxing weekend
