'Thorn' in my finger...

The other day I got caught in a thorny bush (long story! ) and now three of my fingers have tips of the thorns stuck under my skin. They are really sore.

I have heard that these can cause problems, as they keep going deeper into the finger... does anyone know any ways to get out? Preferably not by cutting them out

Grate some soap, add a half teaspoon of sugar, mix with a little warm water into a paste, apply to finger and cover with dressing. Keep doing this daily if needed till the compress pulls the thorn out.

The above acts like a drawing ointment

You could try Silica 30c Homoepathic remedy.

Soak your fingers in epsom salts, this will draw them out.

Thanks guys

I'm going to try the compress because I have everything needed for it and I prefer that way I had an infected finger a while back and OH had to prick it hard with a needle... it was agony so I am really reluctant to go down that route. I know they are different but the experience just put me off

Lots of soaking in hot water too, intbetween poulicing.

I wonder if your tetanus jabs are up to date? I believe that they recommend every ten years now, although it may be shorter if you have much to do with horses or farming. Some thorns can carry the tetanus thingy.
