Thats really dad. The condition you are speaking of is "Wobblers syndrome" or "Cervical Vertibral instability" Its common in breeds like the Great Dane and Bassett and most commonly in Dobermanns. I myself had a "wobbler" Its when a cervical (neck) vertibrae becomes unstable causing pain (not always) and the dog to "wobble" in its movement. Some dogs do ok with surgery, some dont require it, some are past hope with severe symptoms. Horses get it too, when vetting a horse, a Vet will often get them to walk backwards, a wobbler cannot do this properly.
Dawn.

Poor Schmichael! His cousin Magnum is filling in for him while he has his op.

It was only when he was doing scenes at the vet surgery when he was supposedly hit by the bus that the vet picked up on it, bless him.

If you do a Google search it explains Wobblers in fine detail.

VERY VERY sad to watch a Dog with Wobblers....

I had to put my Dog down 6 months ago, as he was Suffering with Wobblers.
As previously said, common in Large breeds such as Great Danes, Doberman, Labs..

Ash...

hi ash

just read your message from some time ago with regards to wobblers syndrome.
am i right in saying you had a boerboel with it???.
my boerboel is 16 months old and has just been diagnosed, ive been trawling the web but untill now havent been able to find any boerboel owners that have experienced this nightmare!!!!.
If you could get in touch would be great to speak with you

kind regards
cliff
