Mishka - 18 month old Husky x

Mishka is an 18 month old husky x and is currently on foster in Cwmbran, Gwent.

The Mishka Fact File
Dog status: Excellent with dogs of all shapes and sizes out on walks. At home she likes the quiet life and would prefer to be the only dog or have one calm, sociable companion.
Cat status: Good but will chase if the cat runs. Good with ducks, chickens and horses.
Child status: Good, could be rehomed with dog savvy children 8 years plus
House training: Very good
Home alone: Fine to be left for a few hours if she has been well exercised
Basic training: Sits, gives paw and lies down. She has been having help with her heelwork from her foster family and is coming along nicely but this would need to continue with her adoptive home

Oh Mishka, how beautiful you are. Not only on the outside, but beautiful through and through. This is one special dog.

Mishka came to us from the pound so we do not have any history for her. She walked in a blank canvas for her foster family to find out more.
She is a husky cross but we do not know what with. Mishka would preferably like a new home with experience of huskys or other northern breeds and their needs.

Miska is a gentle and loving dog who adores people and is friendly with children. She has not been in foster with children, however, she could be rehomed with dog savvy polite children of 8 years plus.

Mishka is good as gold out and about meeting all different dogs. Even when a dog has shown aggression to her she just walks off and does not retaliate. However, she does appreciate peace and quiet at home and would prefer to be the only dog or have one calm, quiet companion.

Mishka will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. If she receives this she is a fantastic and quiet house dog. Her foster family say 'she just lies in her bed in the house, we don't even know we have her most of the time, she never gets under your feet and is good to be left for a few hours. She sleeps in her bed in the kitchen over night and is good as gold, we never hear her and even have to get her out of bed in the morning to go for a walk!'

Mishka lives with a cat at the moment and is fine with him. If the cat runs she will chase him but only in a playful way once he stops she just sniffs him. Her foster family live on a farm so she has met chickens, ducks, sheep, goats and horses. She loves the horses, will chase the sheep if off the lead but again only in a playful way. If she was being walked where there is livestock she would need to be kept on the lead. She takes no notice of the chickens and ducks.

I will finish with a quote from her foster mum 'Mishka is a joy to have and really will bring a family loads of fun and love as long as they give her what she needs she will repay them so much more. Who ever gets her will be very lucky.'

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form should be returned to Hope Rescue.
