Rehome German Shepherds

Hi guys. My name is Natalia and me and my partner have 2 gorgeous German Shepherds aged 7 and 9. They are very active fit dogs, well behaved and very affectionate. Unfortunate circumstances are forcing us to look for a new home for them. They would make brilliant guard dogs for a stable yard as they are used to horses and they've lived out all their lives, although one of them does not get on with other dogs. That is also a reason why we would love to re-home them as a pair to keep each other company. This is a very sad and heart breaking decision. However we want the very best for them and unfortunately we can no longer offer them the quality of life they are used to and deserve for years of faithful guarding work. We are hoping there is someone out there with a good heart that would be willing to take them on. If anyone interested, please contact me on

Good advice.

PLEASE PLEASE do not advertise your dogs on lots of sites describing them as 'guard' dogs - you are likely to get the worst type of owner wanting your dogs for the worst reasons!

Hi Natalia, it's always good to post pictures of your dogs - and I think you did the right thing by disclosing that one of them doesn't get on with other dogs.

Regarding saying whether they would make a good guard or not, I really don't think it's a big deal - I'm sure you'd vet anyone coming round to see them anyway, and I think it's actually better to give a good accurate description of them.

Yes, on this site it's fine but if she puts that on certain other sites then she may well attract people who want dogs for all the wrong reasons - and even if she vets them, people can and do deceive.

This is excellent advice. Please contact one of the GSD breed rescues to assist you in finding the right/best home for your dogs.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you giving them up? They are not young dogs and volunteering in GSD Rescue I unfortunately know that older dogs are the most difficult to find homes for Is there no way you could adjust things so you could keep them?

Hi guys, thanks for your support. We had them on a stable yard that belonged to my partner and his ex-girlfriend. It was 15 acres of horse pastures that was well fenced off and we lived on the premisses so dogs were allowed to run around freely. But my partner lost the place in court to his ex. We relocated to another yard that we are renting. Unfortunately the owners aren't very happy that we have them there. One of the reasons is that they have their own dogs there and they are worried that one of our dogs might hurt their dogs. I am being very responsible and try to avoid possible encounters with them, but it's not always easy. It is possible that we are going to relocate again and as you can imagine, finding a house with garden where the landlord allows two big GSD is almost impossible.
I will have a look at the links you posted here and see..

THanks again x
