Cooper used to do that when I first got him. He was about 1 yrs old then. I eventually just ignored him and walked away and shut the door behind me. He grew out of it quickly. It seems to be a play / frustration thing to get some energy out.

Haha! Thanks guys. Yes, I hadn't noticed the original post was so old. At least it's still a timely topic, as many dog owners go through similar issues.
