Hello everone, I just joined!

Greetings!

I completed the profile with my info and added some pictures to an album that you can access from there, I guess? Not sure how to link it! I've added another picture to this post anyway, so you can see my two.

Presently I have a Beauceron and a Spanish Mastiff; Indra is 2.5 years old, Stella is two months older and I've had them since they were 8 and 6 weeks old, respectively. Previously I've had Rhodesian Ridgebacks (my <3 breed) for many years.

Our most recent addition is a 6 m/o dog-cat in the form of a Bengal who comes out with me and the dogs.

Training is work in progress, with all three of them, in very different ways!

I look forward to exploring this forum and interacting here. I'm coming from one where people are rather closed-minded and often rude so I'm hoping for friendly people from different walks of life and experiences, who are happy to share and agree to disagree politely! Am I in the right place?! Also, could anyone point me to forum posting guidelines? I'd like to check what's allowed to make sure I keep to the rules.

Thank you for reading!

Welcome, stunning dogs

With regards to guidelines - we can summarise them as simply 'Don't be a twit'

Just by asking tells me you're a 'good egg'

As the chief mod (otherwise known as 'the boss') has said just "don't be a twit"

We just enjoy talking about dogs if you are the same you'll fit in well.

Thank you! Hah! I like the summarised version!

I suppose I was wondering also along the lines of what kind of discussions are allowed (e.g. some forums are strictly force-free and certain tools cannot be mentioned at all) but from the little I've seen so far it seems that it depends on the section and context.

Thank you, like my dogs, I'm quite polite! Yes, I do enjoy talking about dogs, particularly learning and sharing different ways of doing things, whether it's a person from another culture/environment, or one involved in dog activities I'm unfamilar with, or someone using a "natural" alternative to combat ticks... I enjoy broadening my horizons as well as being able to share with people more like me.

You can discuss anything dog-related that you want

We do have rules against people going around 'advertising' litters, or promoting electric shock collars in large numbers of threads etc, but when it comes to discussions and debates, all dog-related topics are fine

Super! That sounds very sensible, to keep spam out. Thanks again!

...

Thank you! @Meg

Gosh, Chloe is such a cutie! How does the "Respectometer" work?!
