I have to say, I don't like Bakers or similar foods, BUT when Jake came home, he was on Bakers. And it had absolutely no affect on him at all... no hyperness or anything like that.

Rupe was on Bakers at one point and it didn't seem to make him hyper either. Then again he was a loon and bouncing off the walls at that time in his life anyway so I don't think I'd have noticed. It didn't cause any problems with Shadow and Wolf when they had it either. I do know people who've seen a massive change in their dogs behaviour simply from switching them from Bakers to something else though.

Raw on the other hand has given Rupert sooooo much more energy that it's been a bit of a shock to the system He's not hyper, he's just not the couch potato I've been used to for the last 4 or 5 years.

Interesting because in your other post on another thread you said:

we use royal canin at the kennels i work, my boss rates it very high. but my dog a bullmastiff was allergic to it and when i looked in to it i saw how many cards were in it a saw why.

And when you see the ingredients of the brand you prefer how much fewer carbs are in this compared to Royal Canin?

Bearing in mind that after the turkey meal the two single largest ingredients are carbs (pea starch and potato flakes) they you have linseed, peas, alfalfa, carrot and chicory pulp I have to wonder how much more carbs are in RC?

Cos by my calculation there is a MINIMUM of 51% carbohydrate in this food? But if you look at tha analysis there is at LEAST 65% carbs?

Just curious as to how that fits in with your "anti carb" stance
