Hiya Tuti

Here is a photo of Vegas's spots and you can clearly see little white rings where i think he's had them in the past.I have been cleaning his skin twice a day and they have gotten better, but a few small ones are still there.Take no notice of the redness though as this is caused by camera flash-his skin has settled down quite nicely!
The white rings are not crusty and just flat, smooth skin. They dont cause him any discomfort and he dont lick down there any more than other dogs would.

Also, you will notice there are other scars which i presume were done with previous owners cause they had a 4 acre garden and likely hurt himself on barbed wire trying to escape.

Lovely picture Steve - that has made my night

No I haven't seen anything like those before but if they aren't bothering him then I would just keep on with what you are doing

I hope Vegas doesn't mind all this bits being shown all round the world

I'm glad somebody else was thinking like me!

Hi Steve, I notice you said tissue paper, you are better off getting those cotton wool pads from Tesco that us women use for our face cleansing, as they will be much softer for him and won't disintegrate like tissue paper (by which I think you mean loo roll or kitchen roll??). I'm not surprised the shops have sold out coz the Hibiscrub is for mud fever in horses and it is rife at this time of the year, wet and warm. Anyways, it will do no harm if you do it every day, as it will kill all the bacteria, if you can manage twice a day, then all the better. Don't know about the Germaline, but if it works, then carry on with that, but the Hibiscrub is killing all the bacteria that's around anyway which is good. Georgie had lots of these in his groin area when he first came to me, but for some reason it has all cleared up now over the months, he just gnaws everywhere else now! Just to keep me on my toes! Good luck Steve, you're doing a grand job with it, I'm sure he appreciates it too

I will not make a comment on poor Vegas showing his bits all over the World either!

Strange thing is,when i roll him over-he automatically lifts his leg to expose his todger and dont need any encouragement!

Part of the problem i think is he hasnt got a lot of fur down there and is just a breeding ground for bacteria with skin against skin when he gets dirty.I clean him off with a towel when back from walkies (when its been or still raining),but then he goes into garden and i forget to do it again.

They do look much better, but a few are still there so will persevere with the Hibiscrub.

That's just what Georgie was like when I first got him Steve, completely bald in that area. Luckily, all the fur has now grown back and there are no signs of any spots or inflammation now, just the white marks like you've got too. I think if you persevere and kill off all the bacteria in that area, it will end up like Georgie's. Don't forget, at the moment it is a complete breeding ground as you say with skin on skin, nice and warm and moist, perfect for nasty bacteria to grow in, so keep at it! Bless him.

Hi Steve, glad the hibiscrub has worked, but another little tip which is something else I used to use in his groin area, was anti-bacterial powder it's made by Vetzyme and it's called just that, and it's great for keeping the area dry (skin against skin, moist) and it says on the tub, soothes, heals and protects, and I think this is how I managed to actually get the fur growing back in Georgie's groin area. The dryer you can keep that area the better, and this powder will protect it and keep it dry, and if you could possibly persuade Vegas to sleep in that wonderful "pose" all the better, as it would dry the area out nicely.

Btw. Georgie's also got hair on his little todger now! Maybe I should start marketing it as a baldness remedy, it's worked wonders for him

My dog Barney used to get what looked like black heads around his willy, never seemed to annoy him though. I think is is where the dirt gets into their pores.
