Although I have met some seriously lovely Borders, it has to be Malamutes for me, I love big hairy dogs!!!

Border Terrier for me.

We looked at Malamutes before we got our Akita and everything but the look of them just did not fit especially the unreliability off lead.

I'd chose the border terrier - just.

They are so full of character and zest for life.

I do love malamutes and if I was in a position to work them I might be tempted, but on the whole I prefer dogs who you can have off lead.

Malamute for me, it is a breed we will definitely have in the future, we are at the research stage at the moment, breeders, lines etc.

But I do love Borders too but as I had to choose, a Mal.

would have to be border for me as my 'fake' jack russell appears to have a heck of a lot of border in her!!

that would be my only reasoning as mals are gorgeous and i do love big dogs too.

This is really hard! I don't think I'm really a terrier person, but I do like borders. They look lovely with their little otter faces, neatly trotting along with their Barbour-clad owners (I have to use these lame stereotypes as I don't know any personally)!

I love the look of mals too, but I really don't think I could deal with the volume of coat as I'm asthmatic enough with the GSPs. So, I'm going with the border terrier.
