What are the best brushes for a Rough Collie?

Hi! Having recently become 'mum' to a Rough Collie lady I'm wanting to buy some decent brushes (or comb/s?) for her but although I've done some searching and 'Googling' I'm still not sure really which brushes would be the best for a Rough Collie.

I have a 'Furminator' which I'm using at the moment for general grooming but I feel that's more a 'de-shedding' tool rather than a grooming brush. (Feel free to correct me - am new to all this! )

So any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated. I have read that a decent bristle brush, a comb and a slicker brush are generally good basics to have but that's as far as I've really managed to get! Thanks for any help!

I would go for a slicker brush and a comb that has swivel teeth and they are different lengths.
I would not have thought a bristle brush would have a lot of impact on a rough collie.

I will post some links in a min.

hi i use a denman bristle brush for everyday grooming, and a pin brush for when they are dropping coat. in severe moults i use a slicker brush. A wide tooth comb is also useful for combing feathering, a smaller width comb for getting knots out behind the ears

Thank you!

Ah yes - that awkward ear area! Legs can be fiddly too! Fortunately she's happy to be groomed, bless her! She tries to lick me when I'm bending down to brush her ruff lol.

Thanks again.

She's a rescue - 7 years old - she was found as a stray and luckily taken in by a small, local rescue who rescue dogs from pounds. They found some background on her as she had a microchip and sadly she ended up with an alcoholic man who hit her and knocked her about. She's terrified of aerosols too so who knows what he did to her.

All we know is that she's from the Blackpool area.

She's a little nervy and jumpy and obviously head-shy but she's settling down well and coming on in leaps and bounds tbh to say we've only had her for 2 weeks as of tomorrow.
