Which clippers, blades and combs should I buy?

I have a cockapoo. Can anyone recommend good, quiet clippers for a long, thick coat?
If I want to keep his hair at least 25/30 mm long do I need to add a comb, or will a blade suffice? What are the longest blades/combs available? Do I need at least 2 blades due to overheating, and what length should they be?
Do I need a separate blade for in between his pads?

I'd recommend getting the longest blade comb attachment and then go shorter if you wish. To use a comb attachment, you need a #30 blade for your clippers, and also the coat has to be completely matt and knot free. I'd also invest in some good scissors to cut his eyebrows, beard and ears.
