Eddie, Sprocker, DOB 04.2009 – Godstone, Surrey


Homing Requirements: Eddie deserves a family who have experience with Spaniels as he hasn't had the kindest of treatment and needs time to trust and relax. Sensitivity to his breed type would support him as he unfolds. Eddie was an only dog but may enjoy the company of another fluent dog. Unassessed to live with children and had 'concerns' when he arrived and needs tender care with a regime centered around his needs, so better to be in an adult home. Unassessed with cats.

His Story: Eddie was living in a flat without regular walks or a regime to meet his needs.He was used to pavement visits around the flats for walks. The couple split and the man tried to get him put to sleep. The vet refused and he called back to say 'If I told you he's bitten me would you put him to sleep’? The vet said had you brought him straight to me and showed me the wound and given me a explanation which showed him as unpredictable then I may have agreed. They agreed that Eddie wasn't wanted and the vet nurse approached us to help. His owner then paid for neutering on surrender. Eddie is newly neutered, chipped and has start vaccinations. Eddie is currently in boarding kennels near Gatwick, Surrey.

Advert: Eddie is in transition and is opening up and learning to trust in a kennel situation which is strange for him. He is still a little wary and so needs an approach that isn't too intrusive but negotiates terms and gently builds a sharing, trusting relationship where Eddie is given ample space and time. Eddie is housetrained, travels well in a car despite the fact he was bemused to be without his 'known owners'.

Eddie is a Cocker Spaniel x Springer Spaniel. He is slightly bigger than a cocker spaniel, but owns the blue Rhone colouring of the cocker. He has the quieter energy of the cocker too. Having said that as he relaxes we are beginning to see Eddie enjoying himself and mixing more easily.

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.
