Its not good news

Murphy has snapped his cruciate ligament in his knee joint and needs an operation and is meeting with the orthapedic specialist/surgeon at 9am on Tuesday morning

The chances are they are going to have to remove a peice of his thibia (sp) and do a Thibia levelling ortha somthing or another, basically they have to level the top of his thibia joint so the other joint sit on it properally and be supported- so it becomes like a plate, my vet says that a dog of Murphy's size (BIG) needs this operation.

As you can imagine I am in bits over this and am constantly blubbing, Murphy is very down at the moment, I know he's just had a GA, but he has no spark in his eyes like normal.

I feel awful

So sorry to hear this, I know just how your feeling Harvey snapped his cruciate about 18 months ago and had to be operated on.
