urgent

am having a really bad week and just got back from school and was about to go visit my oldest son in hospital and have noticed that max has eaten oldest sons birthday cake the whole thing candles and all!!!! i had left in on the side in the kitchen but it was pushed to the back and i have had no sleep for 48 hours and obviousley was not thinking straight this morning but am now terrified. it was a sponge cake not chocolate and a medium size but with a lot of green icing (it was a football cake) he looks very sorry for himself and is just lying by the back door but head up he is looking round but clearly doesnt feel like getting up. when i called him he did come a bit bt is back end was down a bit he obviousley has the bad belly ache. i rang the vet and they said if his tummy doesnt go down and if he hasnt had any sickness or diarrhoea in the next hour to take him in but do you think i should wait? i am so terrified of bloat

I would wait cos it could take sometime for it to pass through his system.

Hope they both get better soon Katy

I had this with Star when she ate an Easter Egg It passed through without any sickness at all.

I would wait and see how Max is in an hour and then decide if you think he is ill enough for a vet vist.

Hope your son is OK too.

When Star ate the chocolate I was told it takes up to 24 hours to get through their system.

Poor Max, is there anyone you can leave him with?

not who i would trust to watch him 100% the vet said i need to see some vomitting or diarrhoea in the next hour or he will have to go in and be made to be sick his tummy looks huge and they said he musnt be fed again for 24 hours! both his sisters owners are at work and they are the only people who i would trust. i have just spoken to hubby on the phone who is with son and he is gonna come home in a bit and i will go see son and then we will decide whether to take max or not
