We have an entire male (who's nearly 10) and the only time he has ever humped was when he was about 15 weeks. My cousin had come to visit (she was about 10) and became his victim! we were both so embarrassed we got up and left the room, leaving him to think about what he had done! we didn't know it then but it was probably the best thing we could have done!

I have had several entire males that have never humped, and Frankie who was neutered fairly early at 6 months due to him being prone to terrierise, who still continues to hump given half a chance. He will stop when told but neutering had no effect on either his humping or his terrorist tendencies. Training generally works better than neutering, just treat it like any unacceptable behaviour and stop him in his tracks every time he tries it.
