Urinary problems

Hello guys, I have a problem for my dog, I hope you can suggest me an answer.

I have a 4 years old English Bulldog called Boss, he has problems with his urinal almost half a year. First time we noticed, we went to a doctor she gave some antibiotics for him, but it didn't help, he still couldn't pee. I had to walk outside for an hour, so that he could finally finish peeing. One day my father gave him a bit of beer, and actually it helped. After 2 month it started again, it so hard to pee for him, so he doesn't want to drink or eat anything, just sleeping all day long.

So maybe you had the same problem with your dog and you could suggest me what to do, waiting for some answers. Eddy

Hello Edgaras welcome.
Have you been back to the veterinary surgeon, what did he say.

You state..
After 2 month it started again, it so hard to pee for him, so he doesn't want to drink or eat anything, just sleeping all day long.
As an owner I would be worried by this behaviour which could be attributed to a couple of serious medical conditions so if you haven't been back to the vet I would do so as soon as possible.

Actually, I went again to the doctor and she said the same that she don't know what it is, so what she did, she gave some antibiotics again, but it's not helping as I can see

Hi Edgkova, did you manage to get a sample of urine to take with you to the vets, it is always a good idea to do so if you can .
Did the vet do any tests?
I would go back to the vets and request blood tests for kidney function and a scan of kidneys and maybe prostate.
I hope your dog will be better soon.

Did they test for a UTI or bladder infection?

What is his diet like?

If he has thrush (a yeast infection) antibiotics could actually make it worse.

I would definitely want further investigations done, and if a UTI is ruled out, perhaps even an ultrasound as he might have kidney stones.

Edit: agree with what Mini has said too, re blood tests etc.

Hi Edgkova you need to see a vet , it could just be a urinary tract infection that needs a different antibiotic or it could be something more serious. I would go to back to the vets as soon as possible.

Yes we made this tests and results were PH-7,5 ; PRO-0,3 ; SH-1,025.

We are giving him JOSERA BALANCE food and special food from bladder stones.

Problem with these UTI tests, that we are living in a small town, so they can't make them. As well, we made ultrasound half a year ago, doctor could't see anything.

If there is blood in the urine I would definitely want to go back and get further tests done - even if that means changing vets or travelling further to a larger veterinary practise.

Blood in urine could be a number of things from bladder flukes to cancer - I really would want to get further investigations.

Has you dog been wormed recently? If not you might want to ask your vet if it is worth doing so, too.
