Some place snowy?

Has anyone ever been somewhere cold on holiday? If so where did you go? We are looking to go away next year and would like to go to somewhere like Iceland or Norway or some place where it is snowy. We would also like to know of places in scotland or somewhere like that where it will snow but we could take the dogs with us. Has anyone got any ideas?

If you got to Switzerland before the skiing season starts thats cheap, and its not so busy

We used to go to Interlaken a lot, great for getting up in to the mountains and guarenteed snow.

We used to go the middle of December and catch the train in to Berne for Christmas shopping.

Switzerland is nice in the Alps. Finland is lovely anywhere.

I live in Switzerland and have been to Finland numerous times. So I know a bit.

Finland has to be one of my fav countries!! In winter and in summer. Very friendly people, most of them speak english. Its very comfortable, and not all that expensive.
