Life saving operation for Skye

As some of you may know my new little rescue puppy has a heart murmer. For those of you that would know it's a PDA heart murmer.
My vet took it upon herself after our last visit to call one of the large Universities in Dublin she said that if I agreed to the residents performing the operation, they would operate on her at a cost of €750. It would normally cost more than double that but it is fairly straight forward and is a great teaching opportunity but the fully qualified vets would be there if anything were to happen. It is open chest surgery and is a matter of shutting of a valve that normally shuts off at birth but didn't in Skye's case.
My vet said if successful she can live a normal life. It is alot of money and more than I can afford so my Mam and my sister have offered to pay €400 between them towards the costs as they know how much she means to all of us already.
She has to go for an assessment on the 20th September for her health to be assessed to have a scan to confirm it is that type of murmer but the vet is 99.9% sure that it is because you can only hear it on one side of her chest and it is very far forwards almost under her armpit (don't know why I'm telling you this that's just what the vet told me).
I am very anxious now that she is fit enough to have the surgery. But then she is so tiny and no surgery is without risk. My poor little girl.
Please keep everything crossed for her.
Sorry for going on and thanks for bearing with me xx

Aww Best of luck

She's so small - I'm sure if you ask them nicely - Ivan can go in and hold her paw
