Is there another vet, I changed vets because I wasn't happy with how they were handling it and I know people who lost there dogs because the vets kept saying there is nothing wrong. You can insist on a second opinion.

Thanks for all your kind words.

The post mortem showed nothing wrong so the vet thinks it may have been a stroke. Caused by what? Who knows - suffice to say it was very fast and there was nothing anyone could do.

I am very sad but we had a lot of good times and at least he didn't die at the vets - who he hated - and he was in my son's arms at the end.

And the local dog shelter will benefit as I have tons of dog food that he tried/didn't like/liked for a week etc. etc.!
