My son broke his leg

He was playing footy for the school.. was tackled and his foot bent sideways, causing a break to the bottom of his fibula
It was touch and go whether they were gonna operate on it as they believe there is damage to the ligaments on the other side of his ankle. They`ve decided to leave it a week (to Josh`s relief).. currently he`s in a temp. plaster due to the amount of swelling, but will replace it with a proper one in a weeks time.. they`ll take another x-ray then and decide what they`re going to do.

Unfortunatly we were going on our first solo trip away.. (first time leaving Josh home alone) for a couple of nights in the Yorkshire Dales. We were leaving next Wednesday.. the time he has to go back for an x-ray.

Also he was due to go on a school field trip to the Isle of Aran for a week on the 14th October as part of his geography A level.. as he`ll be in plaster for 6-8 weeks.. i guess that aint gonna happen either..

Oh God love him. I'll bet that hurt! Big hugs and hopefully they won't have to operate. On the plus side I'll bet he gets spoiled rotten and gets lots of TLC

Good luck with it, hope he doesn't have to have an op, and make sure he rests with it elevated most of the time to help the swelling and the pain too. My mum just broke hers last week (but she's 82!) and you'll be surprised how much you'll have to do to help him. Poor lad, wish him allthe best from me, it's gonna be quite frustrating for a young lad like him.
