Animals don`t have rights in law.
Children do - that`s why her mother went to prison.

Jesus, I find this part terribly shocking

Social workers had been monitoring the family for 12 years and, at times, things were so bad that they visited her home twice a day.
What I don't understand if things were SO bad for so long why weren't the children taken taken away sooner, that's awful. Poor Shannon

It's a shocking story isn't it?!! Unbelieveable!
However I think kids AND pets should have have the same protection! In my eyes, it's only humans that decided that animals aren't as important as us. I believe that they are important. And my mutts are just as much part of the family as my kids!!

Me too....

Animals DON'T have more rights than children, but I wish they did, or at least have as many.
