I do not want the vet to kill my dog.
I want his opinion re: Is our new "dog room" arrangement humane? I feel that it maybe selfish on my part. As hard as it would be, I'm willing to find a new home for him, if that's what's best.
My vet is amazing and has been working with our family for years regarding our dog's fear of kids. We've also worked with an animal behaviorist (in combination with our vet) and I will consult them as well.
About rehoming: I'm lucky to be part of a community where there are many dog rescuers that I know personally. I live in a smaller town, where (for better or worse) everyone knows eachother's (and eachother's animals) business. I know who I can trust. Not to mention, if my dog ends up with a new home, it will likely be with someone he already knows.
