A puppy has just been hit outside

Heard very young puppy scream - went out - three or four cars, some big 4x4 stopped, and youngish men all gathered round. So I went out, well what do you think I would do? And this very young puppy on the pavement which one of the guys said he hit but I could not see any injuries but pup was breathing.

Gave them telephone number of my Vet and said please take the pup I will pay, tell them to phone me and I will pay. One of the guys phoned Ram, went and brought a box and gently lifted the pup into it and said he was going straight to the surgery. Also the guys said no, no, they would pay. Not sure which one hit it - think maybe just side-swiped it, but such a very young puppy.

I am sitting here in floods of tears but at least not only did the guy who hit the pup stop but also so did others, so there really is some goodness here towards dogs. No idea what is going to happen, just waiting for a phone call from the surgery.

And I want to ********** whoever let such a young puppy loose.

Ram just phoned - the puppy did not make it. It had died by the time they had gotten to the surgery. Only 15 minutes away. Ram said the pup was a bit dirty but there was no obvious sign of external injury and he reckoned the baby died from internal injuries and shock.

But at least those guys had the decency to stop - one of them phoned the surgery when I gave them the phone number, and he so gently lifted that baby and put it in the box and then into his car. to take to the surgery. Not sure if it was the one who hit the baby as there were a few big cars and these guys and it is dark - was just outside in between my bungalow and the bungalow on the other side of me where there is no streetlight. and my outside light does not reach and I had hoiked myself outside on my crutches.

Poor baby, whoever you were.

You never had chance in this world but there is a wonderful world at the Rainbow Bridge for you to run and play.

Run free little puppy, run free xxx
