Thanks for all the ideas guys - never knew you could do so much with them

I like the idea of them on toast - but can't have bread! Pasta sounds good too!

Apparently, I am not getting enough calcium (as I can't have milk) and they're meant to be a good source of that too (cos you can eat the bones).

Not sure if I'll be able to handle the strong taste tho

Lol, re Rocky - he'll eat anything, so long as it's not bitter!

hi azz

not sure if this will help re the calcium, but luca is intolerant to milk, and we use a product called Oatly, which is oat milk enriched with calcium and vitamins ( white and red carton in uht section in supermarket,

its tasty and much nicer than soya milk..

I have soya milk - 'So Good' soya and it's yummy.

Salmon has calcium too, I think.

Oh oh from my student days, empty a tin of sardines in a big rice bowl and mash it all up (the one in the spicy sauce, yum!) and then get one of those microwave rice packets (or cook some proper rice but hey, I was a student!) and then tip it straight out on top of the fish (don't leave it to cool in the bag as the instructions say, but be careful there is hot steam!) Leave it a couple minutes to cool down and the rice warms up the fish, then mix it all together, It's lush!

Can also be done with super noodles and plain sardines or tuna.

You can also make wraps with some salad.

Mmm, sardines in pasta. I miss fish so much since I became vegetarian, you can get imitation chicken, beef etc (although never as good as the real thing!) but I don't think you can get imitation fish. Try Rocky with some, Max loves fish.

Azz if you reheat sardines (the canning process cooks them they are heated to a high temperature for a short time) if makes them taste very 'fishy'.

Cook the pasta/drain the sardines/slit in half and remove the back boned/chop lightly . Now mix the chopped sardines into the pasta and add a squeeze of fresh lemon/black pepper and lots of chopped parsley
