I feed Iams lamb and rice adult to my 9 month old Golden Retriever. I fed it because that is the choice of the professionals at the assistance dog school I am fostering him for. Iams is the most popular food among the service dog schools. Their choice is based on results, not speculation.

Jessie's on Oscar and Nature Diet at the ment but I will be changeing her to raw eventually. She's just cleaned of a lammb leg bone of meat and I'm watching her closely in case she manages to break the bone with her teeth. She's very good and I can take the small shards of her easily. It's a raw bone, by the way!

Oscar has half robust puppy Purina Pro-Plan and half puppy Naturediet. He seems really happy with this and his poos are well formed and not smelly! He is 5 months old.

I've switched mine to raw, no more smelly wind and huge poos to pick up. My retriever is now putting on weight and Harvey is losing some - and they love it.

Don't feed any cooked bones at all - that's my advice. Cooked chicken is fine, but no bones.

Raw chicken bones are fine IME.

Chicken with or without bones isn't a complete and balanced diet. The surest way to assure your dog is getting the nutrition it needs is to feed a commercial dog food and little else.

Many dogs get away with eating cooked chicken bones. My 9 month old Golden just got away with eating a heavy wool sock. That doesn't mean I will be making them a regular part of his diet.
