its all over, went to the vets to see him tonight and he had given up just led there, he wagged his tail when he seen me but diddnt even lift his head.
we talked about how ill he was and agreed it was best to end the battle, as the vet was drawing up the drugs i was stood stroking his head and she walked over and checked his pulse and told me he had passed away,
the vet said she thinks he was holding on hoping that i would come and see him like i did every evening, and he just wanted to die by my side where he had been his entire life

Oh so very very sorry Tom. I am glad for you both that you got to see each other first, but I doubt that feels like any consolation now.
