I am a little angry.

We were told by our vet that if Dillon became worse we were to take him along to the RVC. So today I felt he needed to go as he did not seem to be responding well to the pain relief and still seemed uncomfortable. So rang around tea time only to be told we needed to see our vet so I explained what we had been told then was told ring your vet get them to ring us we will then see him so did all that and decided to ring the RVC again to check it was all on to be told manage his pain see your vet for this and wait till Monday.

Not a happy bunny I am now waiting for a call back. I am gong to feed him in a bit as I have underfed him for his 3pm feed and I will give him another Rymadil and speak to his vet in the morning. He does seem to be coping better now and walking better so I will not take him tonight after all.

I will make my feelings known on Monday this is a young puppy. My worry is, is he doing damage by over compensating in other ways with his walking and what about his socialisation and lead training ?

They were in my good books with the treatment we received for Ollie they have gone down considerably in my estimation this evening.

Sorry it's not going great Lynn, poor Dillon.

The vets probably don't class it as an emergency, hence not taking him in straight away? Try not worrying about it - personally I would rather they're prepared for an op rather than them trying to rush it.

*hug*

Oh Lynn, I am so sorry that you are going through all of this and it would help if everyone seemed to be working in Dillon's best interests wouldn't it.

I have to say, I remember that when Bitz ruptured her cruciate ligament our vet said that if left with no treatment other than pain relief she would seem to improve for a while. Then it would gradually get worse, much much worse. The op for Dillon, if it was needed, should have been done a week or so after the initial injury........this is all so upsetting isn't it.

My heart goes out to you, and I do hope that it can all be resolved quickly.

Thank you all. He has been fed now so won't be going as he will be sick in the car. Phone went and I missed it.

He has had another Rymadil I will check with Anita tomorrow it is ok to give him two like before if I feel he needs them and wait till Monday. I will be having a very in depth discussion about my concerns with them. If he needs an op thats going to be another 2 months of his puppy life gone. Still he is comfortable at the moment so thats the main thing.

We will need all the vibes for Monday please.

This news must be rather depressing for you, but if it is any consolation, if it is a CCL a few more days is unlikely to make any difference to the outcome.

Fingers crossed for Monday.

Thank you both.

Have just spoken to a nice lady at the RVC and she has said if we feel we need to take him later tonight or after hours tomorrow or the weekend just ring and thats fine. She like me is not sure where the miscommunication has happened about us taking him as advised by vet on both visits.

If he seems comfortable I will wait till Monday if he seems uncomfortable he will be going out of hours to the RVC no point taking him back to the vet she can do no more than she has done.

Oh Lynn, how annoying. I understand your concerns about his puppy life and socialisation but there isn't much that can be done, is there? It's far from ideal, I know. I hope you are able to manage the pain.

Poor Dillon. I hope you don't have to leave him, but if you do that he is soon home again.
