Wow Pat, your new place looks fab. Really lovely greenery around too. It all looks sparkly and new. It's good that you have brought the date forward a month, as you say it could make the move a lot smoother for the lovely Bella. Bet you can't wait.

Thanks Gellygoo. I am looking at it like this my friends. It's like putting myself into a gated secure complex with no dangerous features before I need to go into 'care' lol!

But far more my style to choose one that resembles a luxury holiday complex which is what this is!

(Whole place rated wheelchair friendly including all entrance doors, pool changing and toilets so far less likelihood of me keep falling on my derriere!) and especially as there is lots of nice FLAT walking all around it. And, I CAN GET SHOPPING RIGHT TO MY FRONT DOOR YAYAYA! No struggling in from car through entrance doors and into lift and to my flat. Have parking space outside my undercover front door.

Once inside of course you tend to think of the back as the 'front'. Door will only be used for entering and exiting if I am going out in the car.

Today I see they've hosed down the rubic cube outdoor seating! Bella is looking at the green stuff very suspiciously.
She's got built in 'kennels' and hidey holes under that glass top table!

My finger hurts from sending hundreds of pics directly from phone to Martin. He can't wait to come over.

No contest? Here's what it looks like now where I used to walk Bella and meet all the other dogs in summer. And this is the TIDY end of it (don't laugh that's the 'new' bridge!) It's a mess and we've got the rain to come yet. I hate it now. Have been driving further than where I've moving to most days to go somewhere nicer. (Mozzie danger at lake this time of year - not sure if they've sprayed yet either so avoiding that too)

And this is where they are dumping all the rubbish from the new waterfront they've been working on for more than 2 yrs now and still nowhere near finished. This is in sight of where I live from my verandah. As soon as they dump another pile of rubble some eejit chucks an old bath on it and then others dump rubbish bags. EEEEYUK!

And no one has any CLUE what this odd building on the right is for. It appeared overnight one night - partway to our nearest walking ground. Only in Cyprus could you plonk summat like that on the pavement and leave it there - it appears to be storing tiles from demolished tavernas on the waterfront.

It sounds like a win, win situation for you to move. Even over here tenants have the upper hand when renting a property but over there it sounds like a nightmare to be a landlord ..... not wonder you prefer renting

The place looks immaculate and not long now 'til you'll be able to up sticks and move in. If you aren't taking any furniture your move should be a doddle

Yes Jenny and especially now I've decided to rent BOTH for one month (April) that's really taken the pressure off - it's not the moving of lots of stuff - it's the disposing/selling of lots of stuff this end - some of which (like my new bed) is only months old.

I could of course have legitimately just used the empty flat next door for a month. But the thought of whizzing round THREE places to see what's what is an even bigger nightmare!

Just spoken to Andy and informed him I have changed my mind about not wanting him to spend his one week holiday 'helping me move' he now has no option!

He's already sorted my best internet option out for me from the UK. He is a natural problem solver. I will get him to hire a van here and hopefully by the time he leaves we will have got most of what I want over there in place.

Now Martin is wanting to come over soon too. And my sis is due end May.

Let's see what landlord George has to say here. He twitters on about how lovely I've made his flat. It won't look so lovely when I take all my stuff out! But I bet you anything he won't want to buy it!

Drove over again today but didn't stop at the apartment. Went straight to see the Donkeys but they were inside their stable. So we turned around and investigated local shops etc. that are off down the side streets, not just those on the main route back to seafront and town.

Quite a little assortment, ranging from Turkish Gold Jewellery shop to Electrical Appliance Shop. Sports clothing discount store and lots of small Beripteros (like a minimarket) as well as the huge Bakery round the corner to my road (which is open 24 hrs a day as most Bakeries here are (and sells everything not just bread and cakes) Car repair workshop and lots of tavernas too.

It is just under 5k from the beach I drive to a lot now (closer than I am to it here) and closer also to one of my and Jen's favourite beaches - little bay Dhekelia Leisure Beach on the SBA. Good showers there, peaceful and best fish n chips in Cyprus right on the little bay.

We ended by heading for one of my secret rock beaches for Bella to have an adventure. I am SO happy that I am closer to my favourite less busy ones. All of them about five mins drive from the apartment. And we also drove as far as you can go down the road past the donkeys before hitting farm tracks. Lots of orchards and fields of sweetcorn and all sorts being tended there. I'm really looking forward to not only being able to walk in such nice surroundings without using the car but also being so close to where it is cooler and I have to travel to in the car because of the heat. And of course the proximity of the pools to the flat for when I get back all hot and bothered!

Martin is talking about coming out at Easter just for a long weekend just to see the place. So that's Andy first week April, Sis first week May and Martin at Easter! Lovely and can't wait to see them!

I've got an outside tap! Just spotted it. And not on wall of apartment. Comes up out of grass inside garden wall round the corner. Just spotted it in my photos I've taken! Yippee! No more carrying wagering can out mop bucket through the flat. And ... Sprinklers set into the grass too!

I'll be in heaven outside playing with water! Best of all I can wash Bella outside before we go in when we get back from salty sandy or mucky walks. Oh joy. Have to hoick her and straight into bathroom here.

And it's about three feet of the ground on a stand pipe I will just stand her under it. Water's never cold here.
