Sorry I've not had chance to update. Today has been a bit hectic. Toby has been refered to a specialist so that he will be in the right place if they decide he needs a transfusion. There was some confusion with the tests done this morning as the machine said his count was 8% but the manual count was 14%. I had to pick him up at lunchtime and drive him over for his referral appointment. They have done the tests again and confirmed that the 14% count was right, so at the moment they are holding off on the transfusion. He has had an ultrasound and although his spleen is enlarged they had expected this and the rest of his organs look ok. He is getting his drugs orally now as he is eating a little bit. They are giving him a combination of steroids and something else, also stomach protecting stuff. (sorry, can't remember all the names right now). The bloods will be done regularly to check his levels and they are going to xray his chest in the morning to see his heart/lungs. Thay have crossmatched him for blood and have it on standby in case his levels drop.
