Sorry Moyra, I didn't mean to sound disparaging about your optician. I was really just relating what happened to me. I absolutely dread the thought of a cataract op

Yes Griff I'm one of those who doesn't like to probe too much on health issues but I have picked up on some of your posts. But a 'mechanical' mind is a very useful thing in so many ways, not just for cars and bikes, so I do hope you get some pleasure from fixing things occassionly, it's a good feeling when you get something working the way it was intended.

ETA - I think 'neanderthal man' must be on holiday 'cos I haven't seen him for about a week, not that I want to (See him I mean )

Hi Lynn, I'm so pleased, I have been looking out for news as and when you've posted on your sisters condition. Let us hope and pray that they've got on top of it and she's heading to a recovery.

Reference the Dillon dog and your comments about his choice of where to sleep, I thought you might like this:-

"Upon entering a country store, a stranger noticed a sign saying 'DANGER! BEWARE OF THE DOG! posted on the glass door. Inside, he spotted a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor beside the cash register.

Approaching the store manager, the stranger asked incredulously, 'Is that the dog folks are supposed to beware of?'

'Yep. That's him,' the manager replied.

The stranger couldn't help but be amused. 'That certainly doesn't look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?'

'Because,' the owner replied, 'before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him.
'

I am pleased to say it doesn't look like Steve is coming home tonight...........peace reigns within. I might give him a call to see if he has caught any fish today. I shall retire in a little while after Emmerdale and listen to the radio although someone said there was a tribute to Cilla tonight so perhaps I ought to stay up!
