Oh I hope he is going to be OK. I'd stop feeding him until the vet has seen him now. Just give him water.

I know those slimey red poos look alarming but just wanted to say that, when I had my Cavvy, she would pass a poo like that if any unthinking but well intended soul gave her any KFC type greasy chicken or anything highly seasoned. Frit the life out of me first time I saw it - looked like bits that should have still been on the inside of her! Bits of her liver or whatever!

And, when I got Bella and she was GRAVELY ill - she passed stuff like that for weeks until she was better - it was just blood and slime. Once she recovered (took almost a month of intensive care and hardly anything to eat apart from bio yog, paste from vet to build her up and small amounts gradually of mash spud - I found the chicken and rice made her worse in the beginning) she has never ever had any gastric problems since (to date, 2+ years later) The occasional period of slight constipation after eating bones is about all now. Nothing that concerns her or me.

It would be the vomiting too that would have me worried - I guess it isn't such a danger with a big dog but I know with little dogs they can quickly dehydrate if it is coming out both ends.

Does seem as if it is related to something ingested. But I'd hate to guess at it.

I hope Cain feels better this morning and that your vet can give you some answers.

Really sorry to hear that Cain is unwell. Lets hope the vet can give him something to settle his poorly tum.

At least his poo is looking more of a normal colour.

Loads of healing {{{vibes}}} for Cain - I do hope the Vet can sort him out and that he will soon be back to his normal happy [and perfectly formed pooing] self. xx

I hope that Cain is over the worse of it. Good that he did that poo without blood in it and hopefully you and Cain will be spared a vets trip.
Good luck and I'll check in on this thread later.
