found this hun, it has an aftercare bit

Definition

Colonoscopy

Aftercare

After the procedure, the patient is kept under observation until the effects of the medications wear off. The patient will have to be driven home by someone and can generally resume a normal diet and usual activities unless otherwise instructed. The patient will be advised to drink lots of fluids to replace those lost by laxatives and fasting.

For a few hours after the procedure, the patient may feel groggy. There may be some abdominal cramping and considerable amount of gas may be passed. If a biopsy was performed or a polyp was removed, there may be small amounts of blood in the stool for a few days. If the patient experiences severe abdominal pain or has persistent and heavy bleeding, it should be brought to the doctor's attention immediately.

His favourite is lamb and I got some nice little lamb steaks yesterday, with new pots and peas (he only likes peas! )

2nd I'd go for corned beef salad with a jacket potato, and he likes lots and lots of salad, with just about everything thrown on it too, half a plate of it!!!

Roast beef with all the trimmings (he aint getting that!!!!)

.... he's getting chicken, I just threw half a chicken in the oven, but I did bother to put lemon juice on it, salt and pepper and a couple of bits of bacon on top!!!!

I'm going to ring them now I can't stand this anymore!

Oh thanks a million for finding that Shona!! Seems like he can eat normally then. I made a note of the gas (the pants might/will come in handy from mum ), and I'd better sleep in the spare room tonight!!!!

Home at last. He seemed to have enjoyed himself laughing with those nurses! He watched it all on tv and couldn't believe how nice and clean and clear it all was in there. They took 5 biopsies and removed a prolyp, and the specialist said to him he thinks he'll be ok, he hasn't found anything nasty! Phew! Thank goodness for that then. Just have to wait for the results on the biopsies, but I'm sure they'll be ok. He's looking forward to eating anything he says, and is enjoying his cup of tea, and he watched the video that Lorraine kindly sent him and had a good laugh!!!! Thanks all for your very kind wishes for him, he's going to be ok now. Good old Dogsey vibes yet again!!!! xxxxx

Awww...Aitch, I only just caught up with this. So pleased it all went well for dear old Dave. Glad you've got him back at home with you and have fed him well. Give him our best and big wags and licks from CyberCass who has just had a bath in that lovely Episooth Shampoo! xxxxx
